Using CipherPathway
Everything The Field Manual and The Practice Exam can and cannot do, how to use them, and what to do if something goes wrong.
💡 Quick tips
- Your access code looks like CW-XXXX-XXXX. It is shown on your payment confirmation page. Write it down — it is not emailed (Stripe emails only your receipt).
- It opens on up to two devices — for example a laptop and a phone. A third device is refused.
- Access runs from your purchase: 60 days for The Manual or The Exam, 90 days for The Complete Companion.
- A device stays signed in for about 12 hours; after that, enter your code again. It still counts as the same device.
- An agent's code (it starts SD-) goes in the Agent code box at checkout. It never changes the price, and it is not your access code.
📖 How to use it
1. Buy
On the store, tick I have read and accept the Terms of Service…, then click the one you want: Acquire the Manual $299 · Acquire the Exam $499 · Acquire the Companion $599 (both). You pay on Stripe's secure page, which reads SmartestDesk. If an agent referred you, their code is already in the Agent code box; you may also type it there.
2. Keep your code
After payment, Stripe returns you to a confirmation page that shows your code, how long your access lasts, and links into what you bought. Save the code somewhere safe.
3. The Field Manual
Open cipherpathway.com/manual/, type your code, and click Enter the Field Manual. The Contents list on the left jumps to any part: a letter, how to use the manual, 14 chapters across the five SY0-701 domains, and appendices A–E (glossary, acronyms, ports & protocols, exam-day playbook, 30/60/90-day schedules). Every page carries your name and your access end date.
4. The Practice Exam
Open cipherpathway.com/exam/, type your code, click Enter the Exam, then Begin Practice Exam →. There are 120 questions across the five domains in CompTIA's proportions. Leave the timer on for a 120-minute clock (the real exam's pace is about a minute a question), or switch it off. Move with ← Previous and Next →, or jump with the numbered squares (7 filled = answered). When you are ready, click Submit & See My Results.
5. Read your result
You see your percent correct, a read against SmartestDesk's 80% readiness target, and a bar for each domain. Review All Answers & Rationales shows every question with the right answer and why; ↻ Retake the Exam starts again. CompTIA scores the real exam from 100 to 900 and 750 passes; your practice percent is a study aid, not a prediction of that score.
6. Lost your code?
On either sign-in screen click Lost your code?, enter the email you paid with and the last four digits of the card you used, and click Find My Code. Your code appears.
